Behavioral Health Intervention Services
Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) program is an in-home service designed to improve the psychological, behavioral, emotional, cognitive, and social factors that affect a child’s functioning.
Interventions may address the following skills for effective functioning with family, peers, and community in an age-appropriate manner:
- Cognitive Flexibility
- Communication
- Conflict Resolution
- Emotional Regulation
- Executive Skills
- Interpersonal Relationships
- Problem-Solving
- Social
These services are offered in Council Bluffs and the surrounding area for children ages 4-17 who have Medicaid as their insurance provider. BHIS can be referred from many different sources, including:
- Parent(s)
- School
- Integrated Health Home Service
- Department of Human Services
- Juvenile Court Services
- Behavioral or Medical Provider
