You Can Help

Children’s Square USA could use your help!

COVID-19

Each day we care for hundreds of children and families through various programs at Children’s Square, and our primary focus is their wellbeing.  As our community and the world experience the extraordinary crisis of COVID-19, Children’s Square is working to prevent the spread of the virus while ensuring children and families have access to essential services for their wellbeing.

We continue to follow recommendations of the CDC, Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, and Nebraska Department Health and Human Services.  We use technology to provide essential support and guidance to children who reside with their parents, foster parents, or relatives and for young adults transitioning out of the child welfare system.

Our Children’s Center (child care) remains open, and closely follows preventive measures to limit the number of children per room and prevent children and staff from moving from place to place throughout the day by implementing “contained classrooms” to fight community spread.

The Emergency Shelter and Residential Treatment Complex continue to provide critical services for the most vulnerable youth in our community.

In addition to following recommendations of the CDC and Health and Human Services within our residential programs, we implemented heightened cleaning and hygiene practices, social distancing, and increased teaching of coping skills for youth in our care.  We are thankful to Pottawattamie County Emergency Management and volunteers who have provided Personal Protective Equipment and helped make masks to increase safety measures.

Our volunteers mentor and support our youth via technology as they heal in our programs.  We miss their presence on campus as we limit visitors and look forward to welcoming them back when it is safe to do so.

Changes in response to COVID-19 included expanded telehealth services.  If you feel you or a loved one need support during this time, please call us at 712-322-3700.  We are here to help.

Together, we can build bright futures!
